The city of Lindon, UT is located in Utah County, originally settled in 1861 and incorporated in 1924. Today an estimated population of close to 11,000 people live in Lindon, spread across a land area of 8.4 square miles.
Lindon holds a rich cultural and historical background. The town was originally named “String Town” because of the way houses were strung up and down the street between the towns of Orem and Pleasant Grove. In 1901, an old linden tree growing in town inspired the present, though misspelled, name. Throughout the 20th century Lindon experienced organized development while trying to remain true to its motto: “Lindon: a little bit of country.”
